Be your own boss. Ditch that 9 to 5. You deserve better.

No, I’m not selling you a product here neither this is an ad. It’s a hard pill to swallow, but unfortunately, it is the reality. The year 2021 was the year when a big group of corporate slaves dumped their jobs and opted for a more free option to work- the inception of their own business.

It’s a good step towards a more flexible and healthy mode of work. However, you won’t find instant success or a fixed amount of money at the end of every month. Maybe you’ll make more than you expected, on the flip side, it could be worse if you aren’t able to make even the bare minimum.

So, the question lies: should you ditch your 9 to 5 and establish your business or is it too late to start your own e-commerce brand in 2022?

It entirely depends on what kind of person you are and what do you want to do with your goals. For instance, if you’re a hungry fish who wants a quick grand, this won’t work for you. Building rapport and trust within the customer base require patience and a lot of patience. If you’re ready to take the shot with dignity and patience, your dream of starting an ecom brand in 2022 can become a reality.

E-commerce is an ever-growing industry. It is expected to take large spikes in the year 2022 as businesses are preparing for a strong comeback after the Covid-19 outbreak. Also, with more companies firing employees due to lack of work or finance; starting a business has become a trend within these employees.

Are people even buying online?

Countless shoppers have shaken up the entire internet commerce after the outbreak of the virus. The fear of getting infected from the community is still going strong. Also, shoppers report while shopping online they enjoy heavy discounts due to the elimination of middlemen from the trade channels. In a nutshell, starting your own e-com brand in 2022 is definitely a fabulous idea.

However, there are a few things that you need to keep in mind before taking action. Let’s uncover together.

Manifest Your Goals

Ponder upon your purpose of starting your own e-commerce brand. Why do you want it to happen? Because you need more money or you can’t tolerate your soul-sucking corporate job anymore or you want to solve a problem that’s bothering a lot of people? Reflect upon your reasons so that whatever you do will be directed towards the very reason.

Do Lots And Lots And Lots And Lots And Lots And Lots Of Research

Before you hop on making an expensive website or hire the most intelligent employees around the world, please do research. This is the step where most of the wannabe entrepreneurs fail. Don’t be quick to take action. Research around your product, decide who will be the target audience, find out the capital requirement, plan the market research and jot down what you need. Trust me, good research will save you a lot of money!

Always Have A Plan B

We aren’t time travellers who are certain of our success.

The future is the most unpredictable phenomenon ever happening in the history of mankind. The most amazing example is- Covid. I mean, who could have thought a little stingy virus can cause such a nuisance in the whole world?

If you have a ‘guru’ who blabber about giving you a guaranteed result or growth within a certain time period- RUN! No, seriously! Just run away from him. When it comes to e-commerce, the scenario is highly fluctuating. Most of the time entrepreneurs get crazy success when they’re on the right track. Other times, they badly fail. It’s always better to have a ‘B Plan’ for the case if your brand doesn’t perform on the anticipated level.

Start Small

Always start with what you already have! This is a golden nugget of advice you just got for free. You unnecessarily do not have to spend large bucks on branding, product acquisition, and recruitment right from the start. Make use of free tools like canva for branding and graphic designing, hire cheap marketers from Fiverr, and get the least quantity of products.

Covid 19 has brought up a lot of enthusiasts on board to start their own e-commerce business. It’s a revolution we never asked for but always wanted! Above were some advice for everyone who’s getting started with their own ecom brand. I can see a couple of new shining brand makers of the future smiling at me.
